Sandra Frey Stegman
Sandra Frey Stegman is Assistant Professor in Music Education at Bowling Green State University. A graduate of the University of Michigan and former public school teacher, Dr. Stegman is active in music education and choral studies. Currently, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in music education and conducts the A Cappella Choir and Women’s Chorus. Prior to coming to BGSU in 2002, Dr. Stegman was a member of the music faculties at Northern Illinois University and the University of Northern Iowa. Throughout her career, Dr. Stegman has conducted various university, community, and public school ensembles. Previous professional endeavors include serving as music educator and consultant to schools and communities in North Queensland, Australia, conducting the All-State Intermediate Choir at Interlochen, Michigan, and founding Junior Choral Society and Cantare which performed under her direction at state and division music conferences (ACDA and MENC). She continues to be active as a clinician and conductor, presenting at various state and division conferences and workshops and appearing as guest conductor of festival and honors choirs. Accomplishments as a scholar and researcher include presentations at conferences and publication of articles and a book, Student Teaching in the Choral Classroom.
